A LESSON FROM CALEB

"But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it." Numbers 14:24

1.THE SERVANT OF GOD
It is easy to call yourself  a servant of God but it is yet another thing for the Lord to describe you as His servant. It is even more distinct when the Lord says "BUT" not casting doubts but reaffirming that in the midst of many servants  there is one who stands out. Apostle Paul repeatedly described himself not just as an apostle but as a servant of of Jesus Christ ( Rom.1:1; Phil.1:1). The Greek word for servant is "doulos" meaning one who serves his master willingly. A servant that trusts and is obedient to his master. Caleb was a true servant of God. Are you a doulos?
2.THE SPIRIT OF GOD
What singled out Caleb was the fact that he had a another Spirit. Another Spirit is the Spirit of God. The opposite of it is being in the flesh. It is the Spirit that we all receive at the moment of salvation and this Spirit is not "... of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."'" 2 Tim. 1:7. He had the Spirit of God at work in his life. It is possible for a Christian who is Spirit-filled to fail to allow the Spirit of God to lead him.  Because of the another Spirit Caleb was able to follow God fully. Both in good and bad times he followed the Lord. Today we can fully follow God by fully following the Bible. Do you allow the Spirit of God to use and  lead you?
3.THE SUPPLY OF GOD
The Lord makes a promise to Caleb. "... him will I bring into the land, whereinto he went." When we trust the promises of God we  shall receive our supply to serve Him. We should never doubt God. "... Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children's for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the Lord my God." Joshua 14:9 . The ten spies died and missed out on God's supply because they doubted Him and were fearful. Do you know that at whatever age, geographical place or economy still God promises to supply all of your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus our Lord? At 85 years Caleb received his mountain.

4.THE SUFFICIENCY OF GOD
Our God is sufficient besides Him there is no other. He meets our needs and those of our children. Our faith and obedience to God is a blessing that trickles to the next generation. The Caleb generation is blessed by his allowing the Spirit of God to lead his decisions.  Do you want to belong to this generation? David said, " I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread." Psalm 37:25. What future do you want to bequeath  your children and the generations to come? When you have another Spirit God does not only bless you but your children too.
CONCLUSION
You have a spirit but what you need is another Spirit, the Spirit of God. You can get God's Spirit by opening your heart and receiving the Lord Jesus Christ. Put your faith on the finished work at the cross of Calvary. " For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23. Accept this gift and trust Him to take charge of your life. Read the Word for therein you shall grow and get your mountain.
