"... and the Lord added to the Church daily such as should be saved." Acts 2:47
You and I would definitely love to see an exponential growth of our local churches. How does that happen scripturally? The above Bible quote starts thus, " Praising God and having favour with all the people." I looked up the word "all" in Spiros Zodhiates' "The Complete Word Study Dictionary" and it means whole when used as a demonstrative pronoun, wholly, through and through. This explains the solid unity and tight bond that existed in the first church. None was exempt and everyone participated in one way or another towards worship and increase of souls. There was a singleness of mind and purpose. A true brotherhood, adelphos; a fellowship of love equivalent to or bringing with it a community of life. The entire church is called upon to participate. No bystanders!
" Whosoever shall do the will of my Father which is in heaven, the same is my my brother, and sister, and mother." Matt.12:50. This was a brotherhood conjoined by Jesus Christ.
When we come together as brethren, with singleness of a spiritual purpose and play our part in winning souls the Lord does His. He gives us an increase. And He does this daily.
Lord, help us to appreciate daily that we are believers under the great but yet a compassionate commission. That this commission is for us all. Open our eyes to see the perishing and touch our hearts to care. May we trust in your presence when we go out to share the gospel. That it is not about us but its all about You. Use us Lord for thine glory. Amen!

USA ELECTIONS- WHOM TO VOTE FOR!
When a Christian and here I mean a born- again Christian gets into that secret voting booth, issues of morality that lead to the destruction of society are very important. It is not only matters of jobs, security and health that count.
In my country Kenya, it is very sad that we vote on ethnic lines and all else does not matter. Party manifestos and political rallies are decors to hoodwink the electorate. The USA could be different. Looking at the candidates that have stepped forward in Kenya, it appears as the election day draws nigh that my preferred candidates will not win. They lack the prerequisite ethnic appeal that arouses a crazy euphoria and attendant tribal alliances.
As Americans wake up this morning to decided who occupies White house for the next four years, kindly consider the following.
1. Who is the most pro-life candidate? Proverbs 6:17
2. Who is the most pro-Israel candidate? Genesis 12:3
3. Who is the most pro-marriage candidate? Genesis 2:24
The three issues must be dear above all else to every Christian who wants to vote according to the Bible. Voting is a God-given responsibility that we must exercise wisely.
Why should a Kenyan be concerned about who becomes president in the USA? Because the world is so interconnected and the fact is when America sneezes Europe catches a cold, Asia catches pneumonia and Africa catches tuberculosis.
Remain blessed.

THE RESURRECTION SUNDAY INSTRUCTIONS- MATTHEW 28:1-10
It marvels me that Easter is not only a celebration of the death, burial and resurrection of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as most people know but a time to take very important spiritual instructions too. Look at the following three simply instructions that mean so much in our spiritual life.
1 THE INSTRUCTION NOT TO FEAR - V.5
There are more than 365 "fear nots". in the Bible.That means that there is a "fear thee not"for every single day of the year. On the resurrection Sunday there were many things to fear;
a) the angels
b) the guards
c) the earthquake
d) the empty tomb
Stop that fear this Easter. Fear is the absence of faith.
2. THE INSTRUCTION TO COME AND SEE- V.6
When everyone else wants us faraway from them, the Lord beckons at us and warmly calling us to Himself. There are so many invitations to us from our God." Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?" John 4:29 " Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest." Matt.11:28
Humble yourself and accept the Lord's call of salvation, the call to unburden you from sin and heavy burdens. He carried the cross on your behalf, defeated the grave and he can carry you today.
3. THE INSTRUCTION TO GO QUICKLY AND TELL-V.7
When we get to the Lord He commissions us to go and tell. Christians have something to tell. It is urgent and should be told quickly. Let us tell sinners as a matter of urgency that the Saviour of the world is risen, He is alive. Tell this with passion, " they departed quickly.... and did run" v8. Going we must go. "Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost." Matt. 28:19
CONCLUSION
This is not only a serious time in our Christian calendar but a solemn one. It is a time to examine your dead areas of life and seek resurrection. It is a time to forgive like Christ did on that rugged Cross. It is a time to choose to obey instructions. It is your day and hour of salvation.

THE LOVE OF CHRIST THROUGH MEDICINES.
Ms.Pat Schuessler called me and asked me to witness Christ to a 26 year old young man. This young man had walked from Mahianyu where we held the medical clinic on Monday and Tuesday. He has been jailed in the past, is alcoholic and smokes all manner of substances. He is married with two children. To cut the long story short, the young man after briefly sharing with him the plan of salvation put his hand in his jacket pocket pulled out a ciggarette gave it to me and told me that he had smoked his last ever cigarrette and now wanted to get saved. I joyfully led him to the Lord and almost broke down as I saw tears roll down his face. I later gave the cigarrette to Ms. Pat as Dr. Greg said a big Amen!
Before this happened, Dr. Greg had earlier called me to witness to a senior citizen who also surrendered his life to the finished work of our Lord at the cross of Calvary. I enjoyed going down on my knees with an 81 year old man. Surely this salvation is common to all ( Jude 3 ), Christ saves the old and the young, men and women.
Friends we saw 16 people get saved today and we thank the Lord for using unworthy people like us for the extension of HIS kingdom. I want to thank Pastor Robertson Wahome and Bro. Ikinya Mureu for driving the team to different venues, the triage run by Ms Gladys Warutere and Ms Faith Ikinya, the translators; Ms. Sarah Githinji, Bro. Charles Musandu and Bro. Joel Mwangi, the records done by Bros Patrick Kololi and Moses Omondi. Pastors Bernard Mungai, Robertson Wahome and Bro. Joshua Gideon witnessed Christ to every patient at the counseling room. May the Lord bless you all for your labour of sacrifice. Tomorrow we are headed to Ndivai Bible Baptist Church and this is deep in the village. Pray for the entire team, particularly the Americans that they will be able to endure our roads. So far the Lord has graciously enabled them to gel so well and serve the Lord with great compassion. Your prayers continue to do wonders and should continue flowing!

THE MEDICAL CAMP AT ABERDARE BAPTIST CHURCH, MAIRO- INYA
The Lord's faithfulness was manifest again in today's Medical Camp at Aberdare Baptist Church. I love people and the sight of a crowd makes me feel good. Although the crowd today was of very sick mothers, children and of course a few men, as a team we had an opportunity to expresses the compassion and the love of God to them. The queue formed early and the morning was very chilly. I did not have to apologies to Dr. Greg today because of numbers, we strictly saw 125 patients. We can never thank the Lord enough for the 6 souls that were saved today. Africa needs more medical missions, they leave behind a lasting impact. Most of the patients cannot afford a dose of the cheapest antibiotics or even Tylenol. I have had many ask me in every clinic we have held so far whether we were treating eye- ailments or distributing glasses. This is a critical area that calls for much thought. Above all what impresses me most is the counseling sessions run by local church pastors and church leaders. The simple plan of salvation is presented and eternal security explained. Many gospel tracts that end up in very many hands and homes are distributed. Information on where all of our churches are located is provided too. Last Sunday I saw a number of people who were visiting for the first time and this was as a result of the medical camp. I take this opportunity to thank Pastor Bradley, the Director Medical Missions Outreach ( MMO), Dr. Greg Waller and his wife Linda, their son, Tim ( a very hard working twelve year old and a good hymn singer too), Mellisa Miller and Ms. Pat Schuessler. This is a wonderful team to work with. They easily get along with the locals and the dishes too. Friends pray for us as we get to the second and final phase of our clinics. Of particular interest to me is that the people may not see the doctor, providers and the rest of us but Christ only and His love for them. Pray for a bounty harvest of souls and that these souls may seek to know the Lord more in a Bible- believing and teaching church. We should not forget to ask the Lord to continue showering His grace upon the entire team as it traverses our region on rough roads and tough conditions. Matthew 5: 6

A LESSON FROM CALEB
"But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully will I bring into the land whereinto he went; and his seed shall possess it." Numbers 14:24
1.THE SERVANT OF GOD
It is easy to call yourself a servant of God but it is yet another thing for the Lord to describe you as His servant. It is even more distinct when the Lord says "BUT" not casting doubts but reaffirming that in the midst of many servants there is one who stands out. Apostle Paul repeatedly described himself not just as an apostle but as a servant of of Jesus Christ ( Rom.1:1; Phil.1:1). The Greek word for servant is "doulos" meaning one who serves his master willingly. A servant that trusts and is obedient to his master. Caleb was a true servant of God. Are you a doulos?
2.THE SPIRIT OF GOD
What singled out Caleb was the fact that he had a another Spirit. Another Spirit is the Spirit of God. The opposite of it is being in the flesh. It is the Spirit that we all receive at the moment of salvation and this Spirit is not "... of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind."'" 2 Tim. 1:7. He had the Spirit of God at work in his life. It is possible for a Christian who is Spirit-filled to fail to allow the Spirit of God to lead him. Because of the another Spirit Caleb was able to follow God fully. Both in good and bad times he followed the Lord. Today we can fully follow God by fully following the Bible. Do you allow the Spirit of God to use and lead you?
3.THE SUPPLY OF GOD
The Lord makes a promise to Caleb. "... him will I bring into the land, whereinto he went." When we trust the promises of God we shall receive our supply to serve Him. We should never doubt God. "... Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children's for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the Lord my God." Joshua 14:9 . The ten spies died and missed out on God's supply because they doubted Him and were fearful. Do you know that at whatever age, geographical place or economy still God promises to supply all of your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus our Lord? At 85 years Caleb received his mountain.
4.THE SUFFICIENCY OF GOD
Our God is sufficient besides Him there is no other. He meets our needs and those of our children. Our faith and obedience to God is a blessing that trickles to the next generation. The Caleb generation is blessed by his allowing the Spirit of God to lead his decisions. Do you want to belong to this generation? David said, " I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread." Psalm 37:25. What future do you want to bequeath your children and the generations to come? When you have another Spirit God does not only bless you but your children too.
CONCLUSION
You have a spirit but what you need is another Spirit, the Spirit of God. You can get God's Spirit by opening your heart and receiving the Lord Jesus Christ. Put your faith on the finished work at the cross of Calvary. " For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord." Romans 6:23. Accept this gift and trust Him to take charge of your life. Read the Word for therein you shall grow and get your mountain.

THE MIRACLE WE NEED TODAY- NOT THE LOLIONDO TYPE
The first miracle by Jesus Christ was the miracle of creation, " For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by , and for him. And he is before all things, and by him all things consist." Colossians 1:16-17. In the New Testament the wedding at Cana is the first recorded miracle of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. He performed so many other miracles that included healing the body, casting out demons and raising the dead amongst many. The point is that He had a purpose for every miracle. The key purpose is recorded in John 5:36, " But I have greater witness than that of John: for the works which the Father hath given me to finish, the same works that I do, bear witness of me, that the Father has sent me." Miracles were to bear witness of Christ that he had been sent by God the Father. They were to prove the deity of Christ. On the other hand every miracle performed by the apostles was to point the people to Christ.
Every time tele-evangelists advertise a miracle crusade I always ask myself what the purpose of the miracles they plan to perform is. Do these miracles point people to Christ or to "the performer"? Believe me, they are couched to draw attention to the preacher rather than the cause of Christ. Many of the so called miracles we see today are stage managed. I strongly believe in a sovereign God who has power to perform miracles but not at any preacher's manipulation. A look at Apostle Paul's ministry shows a clear graph of diminishing of miracles at the climax of the ministry. God authenticated the preaching of the apostles with miracles and that is not needed today in the manner in which they happened in New Testament days. I do not need a miracle to believe and trust God. His Word (the Bible) is sufficient for all today because it answers every lifes question that man has.
What is happening at Loliondo has everything to do with pseudo- Christianity. There is absolutely no preaching of the gospel before the performance of healing at Loliondo. The Word of God should have preceded the performance but unfortunately the miracles have been given preeminence above God. None traveling to Loliondo is interested in God but healing and sadly no one is going to tell them about the love of Christ but instead they shall be served a cup of concoction. If these miracles were of God, they should have drawn these people to God, produced a fear of God and led to a holy living. What I see on television is a carnival party without reverence.
To cut a long story short, no christian should consult Babu Mwasapile because he is involved in what I believe is witchcraft and must be consulting other mediums for mystic powers, the testimonies of healing not withstanding. Satan shall always disguise himself as the angel of light. Christians do not need miracles today to draw closer to God. We have the Word of God and that is all we need. The church should instead be preoccupied with the greatest miracle and that is winning souls for Christ. The healing of the body is important but not as important as the eternal healing of the human soul. The Lord Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead which was good then but Lazarus later died. The raising of a human soul from the dead is the needed miracle today, " But God, who is rich in mercy, for his love wherewith he loved us, even when we were dead in sins, quickened us together with Christ, ( by grace ye are saved;)." Ephesians 2:4-5

TRADITIONAL AFRICAN MEDICINE - THE LOLIONDO CASE Part 1.
Science and religion have been at loggerheads throughout history. This is only true to a few scientists who belong to Psalm.14:1 " The fool hath said in his heart, there is no God..." However there are great scientific minds that have opened their hearts and received Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour.
When food supplements were first introduced in Kenya, many in the medical fraternity fought them tooth and nail. When alternative medicine using locally available herbs was again introduced the same people with support from the church firmly opposed and doubted their efficacy with the church labeling the herbs and roots demonic. Time has proven the opposers wrong and forced them to backpedal and start both the consumption and prescription of the same. Let me from the outset state that there are very many counterfeit food-supplements and herbal remedies out there just like there are many counterfeit medicines in our chemists. Statistics tell us that 30% of the medicines in our Kenyan chemists and medical establishments are fake. There are equally many false churches, false teachers, false prophets and false pastors. We are living in the last days and an upsurge of such characters should be expected. " Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves." Matthew 7:15
Both the print and electronic media in Kenya have been awash with the magical wonders of a herb from Loliondo. Pastor Ambilikile Masapile 79, a retired cleric of the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Tanzania is administering a highly poisonous arrow root locally known as Mugariga to cure every known ailment. I mean diseases like HIV-AIDS, Cancers, Diabetes etc have succumbed to his treatment. In the past one week, there has been a daily stretch of over 20 kms of vehicles. Politicians from the East African countries are going there in droves. Due to the poor state of the road to this rural hide-out the rich are using choppers to get a sip of Babu Masapile's cup of concoction. There are very many testimonies of healings and this has only added to the numbers flowing there. A picture of Babu Masapile is one of poverty and a life of self-denial that is probably honed by religion or the late President Nyerere's failed socialism. Like the prophets of yore he does not accept gifts and instead asks people to donate them to the needy in society. He also asks for a pittance for the cup of concoction very much less than what television evangelists charge for anointing oil.
Scientists are in agreement that the herb is very poisonous and kills every bird that sucks its nectar in seconds. The people in this area have used it to poison their arrows in the past. The big question is why doesn't it kill humans? Is it the power in Babu's prayers? He claims it is God who commanded him to use the herb to heal people. What does the bible say about all these happenings? Should Christians consult Babu for the many incurable diseases they suffer? Where is God in all these?
Today is a Saturday and obviously tomorrow is the Lord's day so join me on Monday as I attempt to answer the above questions. God bless you and remember to attend church tomorrow for the Lord tells us " Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching."

WE MUST GO TO WHERE SOULS ARE.
"And the Lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled." Luke 14: 23
1. WE ARE COMMANDED GO.
Do you feel guilty for disobeying God? To disobey is to sin and displeases our Savior. The Lord commands us in Matthew 28:19 to " Go ye therefore..." The "go" here though a participle is in the imperative mood. It is a command. Very few sinners shall come to us so we must go to where they are. We must leave all of our comfort for the sake of souls. Going we must.
2. WE ARE INSTRUCTED WHERE TO GO.
In this verse, the instructions are that we go to "the highways and hedges". In Acts 1:8 "...and ye shall be my witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth." Let us give tracts to the people we meet in the streets. Let us share with them the love of Christ wherever we are. We carry precious seed of the Word of God and we should liberally share it. Tell it to your family, friends, neighbors, work mates, I mean all and sundry. You have to determine to start somewhere driven by the desire to obey God.
3. WE ARE TOLD HOW TO DO IT.
It is not only what we tell sinners that matters but how we do it. With love we are told to compel them. Compel connotes to show necessity, show the need and constrain. The sinner must be showed the imminent danger of neglecting such a great salvation. Tell them that we have all sinned and come short of the glory of God ( Rom.3:23) . Let them know that the wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life found only in the Lord Jesus Christ ( Rom. 6:23). Make a compelling invitation to the sinner to open his heart and receive the Lord Jesus Christ. Assure the sinner that if he calls on the name of the Lord, he shall be saved.
4. WE ARE ENCOURAGED TO EXPECT RESULTS
" He that goeth forth and weepeth, bearing precious seed, shall doubtless come again with rejoicing, bringing his sheaves with him." Psalm 126:6 ( emphasis mine). We are guaranteed of success so we need not fear. The Lord wants His house full and Hell de-populated. Every pew must be occupied and it gives you great joy to see those that you reached by your obedience to the Lord's command in church and growing in the most holy faith.
Our soul-winning is not invain though we may face ridicule and rejection the Lord assures us of victory. I urge you to move to the next person if one does not accept God's grace, you will have planted a seed and it shall certainly sprout one day. Never give up on souls and never allow yourself to be discouraged or contemplate surrendering.
CONCLUSION
Going to where souls are is what the Lord commands us to do. Let us go to places that are both familiar and unfamiliar to us. Stride out of your comfort-zone, learn to deny yourself for God's work. Expect an abundance of souls. The Lord wants to use you but only if you obey and GO!

MY NEW YEAR DESIRE Part 1
"Brethren, my heart's desire and prayer to God for Israel is, that they might be saved." Romans 10:1
DESIRE- "...he shall give thee the desires of thine heart." Psalm 37:4
These were serious utterances coming out of the very bottom of Apostle Paul's heart. He meant every word he said and was prepared to die for it. Please for the purposes of this article replace Israel with Africa.
Every beginning of a new year starts with new year resolutions. I was reading an article in one of our daily newspapers and the columnist advised that it is better not to make any so that you are not made to feel guilty at the end of the year for fulfilling none. I choose to make what is not necessarily a resolution but a 2011 desire and prayer. I have a desire to see Africa saved and many people ask me how I shall accomplish it. I tell them that it is a daunting task that only faith in God can enable one achieve. I take comfort in the omnipotence of my God. I get courage in the knowledge that with God all things are possible. My faith is anchored in the promises of a faithful God. I am unshakable because I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me.I know it is a battle but I rejoice because it does not belong to me but to God who has never lost a single fight. I can therefore desire, I can entertain spiritual desires in my heart. I tell you that I can not be accused of desiring for anything that glorifies God. I am but a vessel of clay, very weak but with a Mighty God who shall grant me the desires of my heart. The same I believe applies to you. Let us earnestly and openly express our desires this coming year for there is power in the words that we utter. 2011 is the year for the bold in faith.
PRAYER- "...men ought always to pray, and not to faint." Luke 18:1
It is not just a desire that I shall keep to myself. I must pray, I must verbalize my heart's desire before the throne of grace so that I may obtain mercy from the King of kings who seats on the throne. I must have faith because "...without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him." Hebrew 11:6. By faith I must make the following statement prompted by faith in an awesome God. 2011 is the year of answered prayers. Oops! You are shocked by that? God is going to answer every prayer I make this year and not just mine but yours too. He shall equip you and I for the task. He shall pour a fresh anointing for service on us. He shall surround us with people with a vision for His ministry. His hand of favor shall be upon us. We shall walk through open doors and do that which honors Him. For 365 days of 2011 He shall whisper into our tiny ears, " Fear not" and hold us by His hand. Our discernment shall be sharper and we shall see more than we ordinarily see. He shall grant us wisdom above our years for the task ahead demands it. He is a very very good God.
SALVATION- "...that the world through him might be saved." John 3:17
Having a desire is very important to us in 2011 because it defines our being. Praying should be our lifestyle in 2011 because it gives us the spiritual power to accomplish the desire. The sole goal for these is the salvation of souls. Sinners shall come to the saving knowledge of the savior. We shall call on the Lord in our homes, churches, fellowships and on every platform He gives us to beseech Him to save souls. We shall mention names before Him of friends, relatives, neighbors et al to save. We shall distribute tracts, knock doors, preach in open-air meetings, speak of His saving grace from our pulpits and engage technology and social networks to reach the continent. Salvation of souls is what made Christ leave the Shekinah glory be incarnated and die on the cross of Calvary. All Christians are commissioned to go and make disciples. Going to win souls is an imperative. Africa must be saved.
CONCLUSION
What is your godly desire for 2011? Are you by faith going to verbalize this desire in prayer? Do you know that God has commissioned you for soul winning? God loves you and has a good plan for you in 2011. Let us join hands and do what heaven expects of us in 2011.

BE WISE THIS CHRISTMAS LIKE THE THREE WOMEN
We thank the Lord for yesterdays Christmas service. Let me explain that we deliberately chose as a church to celebrate early in order to give families time together on Saturday 25th, December.
This year's Christmas was so different from what we are used to. The church was full to capacity and the climax was the sermon on "The Three Wise Women" followed by the salvation of two ladies.During the invitation the altar was full with Christians pouring their hearts out to the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. The three wise women challenged our hearts because they were able to acknowledge and accept the Lordship of Jesus before His birth and even led others to Him.
To Elizabeth, Mary was the mother of her LORD. Jesus was Elizabeth's Lord before He was even physical born( incarnated), Elizabeth's focus was what was in Mary's womb and not Mary. (Luke 1:43). Wasn't this woman wise? Wisdom is not found in university papers but in the personal knowledge and relationship with Jesus Christ.
Mary in her magnificat acknowledges Jesus as her savior while still in her womb, she saw the baby in her womb as her Savior and deliverer (Luke 1 : 47).It is very sad that Roman Catholicism has built a Mary cult that has no basis in scripture. Mary accepted the sovereignty of God to use a handmaid of low estate. Mary does not qualify and neither does she ask for any worship. Wisdom is knowing that Jesus is the only Savior ( John 14:6).
Lastly is the wise old woman and prophetess Anna who spoke of Jesus as redeemer in Jerusalem,( Luke 2: 38) she pointed people to Christ thirty years before John the baptist came into the scene and shouted " Behold the lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world" John 1:29. Wisdom is directing people to the only available redeemer of mankind the Lord Jesus Christ. The pentecostal church like the Roman Cats have a skewed understand of prophecy and prophets. Let me spare that discussion for another day.
Two Sunday schools classes presented Christmas skits that were well received by the congregation. Several families sung carols in different languages and that is the beauty of our church, the different tribal languages joined together into one body by the blood of Jesus.
We had a sumptuous meal cooked by our own kitchen catering department. We cannot thank God enough for the chapatis, rice, peas, beef, soda and bananas. When we thought the day was ended we were again asked to go back to the church hall and this is where yet another miracle awaited us. At the pulpit were bundles of wheat flour, packets of rice and bottles of one litre quality ( Elianto) cooking oil. Every family left the church with enough foodstuff for the 25th, December. The mood was celebratory in every way. There was an outpouring of thanksgiving and we all broke in prayer on behalf of those whom the Lord had used to make this possible. It was emotional. I asked the church for a photo session in memory of a great birthday party of our One and Only True Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.
What a day, what a function and what a great Savior we have!
The wise men went to Jesus, Wise men and women always go to Jesus.

YOUTH TEACHING/FUN DAY
" For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God." Acts. 20: 27
It is 11:24 pm and my mind and heart are on tomorrows youth day. We are expecting about thirty to attend and receive teachings that will change their lives. For those who are not born again, may it be an opportunity to receive Jesus Christ in their hearts and for the rest an opportunity to recommit their lives to God. I have invited my good friends and a wonderful missionary couple Daniel Shaw and Kenia Shaw to facilitate. Please remember them in prayers as they serve the Lord in a new environment far from their home. Remember too the youth from our youngest church ( Aberdare Baptist Church) as they trust God for their fare to the venue.
I am trusting God for a vibrant youth program next year that shall see the church full of activities. The youth loathe dullness and fun activities coupled with bible lessons shall bring immense positive changes in their lives. Independent Fundamental Baptist churches in Africa have to wake up lest they loose out to false teachings on the continent. Without compromising on our doctrines we must accept that the youth of yesterdays is different from the one we see today. Today's youth is IT savvy and has the world at his finger-tips hence vulnerable to internet influence which in most instances is negative. Today's youth should be handled differently from the way my pastor did to me when I enjoyed societal innocence. We must boldly confront modern day challenges head-on without fear or shame. Like the proverbial ostrich we have buried our heads in the sand for a long time. Who has the guts to speak to them on matters sexual? I looked at my daughter's past examination papers that she took when in primary school and was shocked to see questions on areas I would never have wanted mentioned in my house. I thought she had never heard certain things just to realize that they were being taught at that tender age. The church has a responsibility to teach the same from a biblical standpoint just as it taught creation to counter evolution in schools. Pray with us that we shall have the grace to speak the whole counsel of God to this generation.

I HAVE AN EXCELLENT FATHER.
"After this manner therefore pray ye: Our Father which art in heaven, Hallowed be thy name." Matt. 6:9
One time my son Zechariah asked me why I always ask most kids in our church to greet their mums when they get back home but I never sent greetings to their dads. When we got home I explained to him that they did not have fathers, they were from single parents because of the immorality around our church compound. We neighbor a slum that harbors crime, prostitution, illicit drinks and drugs. Out of this cesspool are born beautiful children that we love and extend a modicum of fatherly care.
The disciples had heard Jesus call God his Father and now there was going to be a paradigm shift. They were to call on God as their Father. The same thing applies to all those who are washed by the shed blood of Jesus Christ. Are you born again? How is your earthly father? Let me assure you that you have an excellent Father in heaven who;
1. LOVES UNCONDITIONALLY-( 1 John.4:16)
Love here on earth is pegged on so many things, money, educational achievements, connections in society, looks and abilities and many other trivialities. You guessed right, you have a Father in Heaven who loves you without all of the above. He loves you the way you are. Listen to this, " Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." 1 Peter. 5: 7
2.LISTENS UNTIRINGLY-(Psalm.55:16-17)
Does your earthly father give you an ear? With our large families and accompanying poverty your father has no time and resources to solve your needs. With the fast life and putting many working hour in order to place food on the table who shall listen to you other than your Father in heaven? Again listen to this, " Evening, and morning, and at noon, will I pray, and cry aloud: and he shall hear my voice." Psalm.55:17 Do not just call Him ones a day but as many times because your prayers are a sweet incense in His presence.
3.SLEEPETH NOT-( Psalm. 121:3-5)
"Come back next time, the boss is not able to attend to you he is unwell".You are now familiar with this when in need. Your dad might be limited in giving you support or he might be down with malaria. When you are weak, asleep in Mogadishu or in a slum somewhere your heavenly Father is alert and focused on your security and infirmity. " Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep. The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand. The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night. the LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul. The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore." Psalm 121:4-8
4. CHASTENETH LOVINGLY-( Hebrew.12:6-8)
I am now tired of the many cases of parents who have hacked their children to death because of very small misunderstandings. God will chasten you not out of any other motivation but love. The chastening is proof of His relationship with you and His work of sanctification your life. He is holy and and wants us holy. " For whom the LORD loveth He chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom He receiveth." Hebrew. 12:6
I sense the fatherhood of God in His chastening, be worried when you sin and nothing happens, " But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons." Hebrews.12:8
CONCLUSION.
The conduct of your earthly father can obscure your view of a loving and caring heavenly Father. Believe what the Bible say about His Fatherhood. Do you call Him "My Father?" You can only do so if you are saved/born-again. "But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name." John. 1:12
"Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again." John.3:7

WHY AFRICA?
"And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!" Romans 10:15.
There are several reasons why I am persuaded that you need to subscribed to this cause. To be precise you are already by the fact of your salvation conscripted into it but disobedience has gotten a hold of many brethren.
The First reason is because the great commission is a command to all that are born-again even in difficult places and times.
I interact so closely with a number of missionaries from America and you might not believe the sacrifice they make just to see a soul saved and Hell depopulated. How I wish I had their permission to let you into the details. One young American lady drove alone late in the afternoon for over one hundred kilometers after conducting a Sunday School Teachers seminar in our church. Her car broke down on the way but the Lord enabled her to get to Nanyuki safe. She took a risk most would not dare knowing the insecurity on our highways. I imagine the blessings of God not just upon her but even on those who support her work in Kenya. We must come out of our comfort for the gospel.
The Second reason is because the continent has not known peace in its entire history.
Peace is a basic ingredient to any meaningful development. Its absence has been conspicuous. Africa's peace can only come from the Prince of peace. The western democratic principles have given us a semblence of peace that turns like a pendulum; one time you have it and a new regime comes to power and withdraws it."Now there arose up a new king over Egypt, which knew not Joseph." Exodus 1:8. Africa has had a fair share of such political kings. I submit to you that it is only the gospel that can change this continent. The gospel has the penetrating power to change mankind in totality. " Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold all things are become new." 2 Corinthians 5: 17. The gospel is the power of God that makes nuclear arsenal look like a kids toy. This is what needs to resonate from Cairo to Cape town and from Dakar to Nairobi. Watch any international television station, there is hardly any glad tidings from this continent. It is either political chaos or genocide in Rwanda that is followed by Hollywood movie producers out to make a windfall with a box-office horror movie shot on site. As the rapture of the church nears, I see the Lord turning the tide. " ...I will never leave thee, nor forsake thee." Heb.13:5. They shall be a great revival in our days that shall change the spiritual cause of this beautiful continent. American was changed by the men of God who plunged into the deep. Billy Sunday, D.L. Moody, John Rice, Lee Robertson set examples that we can all follow. They could say with Apostle Paul, " Be ye followers of me, even as I also am of Christ." 1 Cor. 11:1 It is Africa's turn to organize great monthly evangelistic crusades that leave an entire town, village or city surrendered to Jesus. The old-time religion is back and with the blessings of the Almighty we shall do exploits to the glory of God.
The Third reason is because we have been sent.
God can never send you anywhere without supplying you with the necessary grace. God has set apart a people for this task. We know that we are not alone. Other than His promises, "...I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world." Matt.28:20 I am convinced that there are so many others on the continent and beyond the Lord has burdened for the spiritual cause of Africa. Some have been sent to come to Africa, others are praying and supporting the work here. We have the high calling of God to serve in the remotest and the most neglected parts of Africa. I see the Lord bringing His army together for a conference to chart the way forward.
The Fourth reason is because of our feet.
We all love our pedicure. Our stylist is the Lord Himself. When we shall appear before God He shall look at the feet of those who stood for the cause of the gospel and declare their feet beautiful. Do you want to have your feet beautiful before men or God? If you spend a life time in a beauty parlor and fail to have a missions heart your feet shall be an eyesore before your creator.I want my feet beautiful and I believe the same applies to you. Join us in Africa as we with our feet carry good news that saith unto the continent, " Thy God reigneth!" Isaiah 52:7
Conclusion.
You are not reading this blog by accident. The Lord must be saying something to you. I kindly ask you not to harden your heart as they did in the wilderness. If you are not born-again you have an opportunity to welcome Christ Jesus into your heart and serve Him with joy forever." For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved." Romans 10: 13. If Christ is Lord and Savior trust Him for ministry for there is a reason to be saved. God loves you and we love you too.
Pastor Philip & Gladys Warutere,
"Pray for us: for we trust we have a good conscience, in all things willing to live honestly." Heb.13:18

WELCOME
Dear Reader,
You are a very important person to us and even more important before your creator God. This blog is intended to let you into God's work in Africa with special emphasis on Kenya. We will highly appreciate your making this journey of faith with us.
I am pastor Philip Warutere of the Bible Baptist Church Nyahururu, Kenya. I am married to Gladys Kanze the most beautiful woman on planet earth. We are blessed with two children, Vanessa Muringi 18 and Zechariah Githinji 12. God has recently given us the burden to plant Bible believing churches in Africa. The Lord has taught us to put our trust in Him, attempt great things for Him and expect great things from Him. We are sure that He shall supply all our church- planting needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus. We are daring to do what for long has been thought to be a preserve of Western missionaries. We shall forever remain grateful to the foundational work done by Independent Fundamental Baptist missionaries from the West. But it has become necessary to sense and appreciate the current move of God in Africa today. There has emerged a group of national pastors with clear instructions to build on the excellent work done by foreign missionaries and take the church to the next level. Missionaries have laid a biblical foundation and the people who are from this culture must keep the fire of the Holy Spirit burning and get to places that missionaries could and cannot reach. This is not to say that the missionaries on the ground should pack on go. On the contrary, we still need them in some parts of Africa. We must integrate the national pastors ministry with experienced pastors, evangelists, conference speakers and Bible institute lecturers from the Western world. Independent Fundamental Baptist National Conferences focused on the development of the national pastors are needed today. This should be annual and geared towards bringing us out of the cocoons we have been previously condemned into. Amongst many things this blog is intended to do is to link up with Independent Fundamental Baptist churches with a passion to see souls saved in Africa and facilitate them obey God's command to them.
If you are interested in what God is doing in Africa then this is your blog. Please feel free to make comments and positive criticism that will keep us in the straight and the narrow. May the Lord find us faithful. We covet your prayers. We love you.
